“Immersive storytelling” (for all subject groups)

Time: Monday, June 8 at 9:30 AM
Place: Pilotscenen , Kloden theater
Subject program

Are you curious about immersive, participatory and co-creative theatre experiences – and how you actually create them in practice?

Join us for an open and hands-on workshop with Peter Higgin, founder and recently retired artistic director of Punchdrunk Enrichment, and co-founder of the groundbreaking theatre company Punchdrunk, which creates imaginative and inclusive experiences for schools and communities.

With over 25 years of experience from some of the world's most renowned immersive and interactive theatre projects, Higgin shares concrete methods and thoughts on how to build theatrical worlds, actively place the audience in the experience - and create space for play, participation and storytelling.

This is a workshop for those of you who work with (or are interested in) theater, art, communication, pedagogy – or just want to explore new ways of creating experiences. Low threshold, high inspiration factor.

The Year of the Shark – Brageteateret

Time: Tuesday 9th – Wednesday 10th June
Place: Pilotscenen , Kloden theater
Target group: From 10 years old

Just because something is a story doesn't mean it's not true. And like so many stories, this one starts out quite ordinary. Klara lies awake in her bed. She's too in love to sleep. Then the unusual happens... She's visited by Bob, who has a mouth full of shark teeth. He offers her the darkness itself, and with the darkness she can have everything her heart desires. The only question is what she's willing to sacrifice on the way there.

THE YEAR OF THE SHARK is a story about big emotions, and about how far we are willing to go to get what we want.

Binnánaš Balus - Almost Not Afraid - Elle Sofe Company

Time: Wednesday 10 - Thursday 11 June
Location: In Gammen in the apple orchard outside Kabelgata 1
Target group: From 5 years old

Oslo premiere!

Anna and Biret are two friends. When they meet in the classroom, Anna is ready with cocoa and a nice surprise, but Biret is already wet on her feet. Biret feels best indoors, with lots of people around her, and without having to worry about animals and nature that threaten outside the thin classroom walls. Anna would rather just be with Biret, and not be afraid of doing something wrong, or that the others in the class will look at her strangely.

It turns out that the ghoul is filled with stories, and from various hiding places, different guests sneak out. Some are helpful, others are scary, and some are both. Through the night in the ghoul, somewhere between the northern lights and the underground, Anna and Biret search together for ways to be a little less scared.

When everyone is sleeping – Unge Viken Theatre and Theatre Joker

Time: Thursday 11 – Friday 12 June
Place: Pilotscenen , Kloden theater
Target group: From 3 years old

At night.
When everyone is sleeping.
And dream about what they dream about.
Then comes Boba.

Boba tears down everything he sees. Awnings, lampposts, etc. He is thirty-two meters tall, barefoot, dressed in fur.

Nobody knows.
Nobody sees it.
Everyone sleeps through the drones.

Except one.

When Everyone Sleeps is a magical tale about an unusual friendship and the challenges one faces when one begins to associate with huge, furry monsters.

The performance is based on the picture book of the same name written by Nicolai Houm and illustrated by Rune Markhus, published by Gyldendal Norsk Forlag.

Performances and academic program Kloden theater shows elsewhere in the city:

Performing arts and democracy building

Time: Monday, June 8 at 9:00 AM
Place: The Beehive, The Norwegian Theatre
Subject program

Researcher Jan Fredrik Hovden will talk about the roles that the arts and institutions can play in the work of strengthening and further developing democracy. Hovden is a professor of sociology at the University of Bergen, where he leads the research group Group for Culture, Inequality and Democracy.

Afterwards, there will be a panel discussion about art, exclusion, and democracy building.

Participants:

After the panel discussion, there will be a discussion in groups for all attendees - about specific experiences and issues.

Before Kloden For theatre, it has been crucial since the beginning to contribute to a more diverse artistic field, and a more nuanced public with ample space for different voices.

This is about diversity and democratic development, but also that variation in perspectives, narratives and expressions is part of our concept of quality.

Join us and think together about how we can build stronger communities and strengthen democracy through art.

Not that kind of story – Feil Teater

Time: Friday 12 – Saturday 13 June
Location: Voldsløkka Stage
Target group: From 14 years old

On a typical Tuesday, 15-year-old Leo is beaten up outside the school gates. Both he and the gang of boys behind him refuse to say anything – and everyone realizes that they are hiding something. Soon rumors start circulating in the class, and teacher Kaja has to try to piece together what really happened.

Not a Story Like That is a tale of secrets growing, trust unraveling, and friendships breaking down. Through an intense and intimate story, we ask some questions without easy answers:

What happens when online reality starts to flow into the classroom?
What mechanisms make someone drawn to the extreme?
And what happens when a young person begins to believe that violence is the solution to their problems?

Not a Story Like That is a new theater performance from Feil Teater , developed for young people between 14 and 18 years old.

The Hedda Festival is Norway's largest theatre festival , bringing together performing arts from all over the country for a week of performances, industry programs and social events in Oslo.
