Go Figure!: Transport: Cargo – Maribor Puppet Theater (Slovenia)

Cargo highlights the pulse of freight transport, where our modern infrastructure keeps everyday life going, while placing ever heavier pressure on people, the environment and resources. At the center, a truck driver is on his way through the night, caught between deadlines, long drives and difficult decisions.

The performance follows him through his daily workday with stops, delays and small obstacles that gradually close the possibility of breathing space. A meeting in the dark and an abrupt break at dawn transform a routine drive into a collision where ethics, responsibility and personal guilt press into the driver's cabin. Through the driver's perspective, the contours of a global system emerge, where millions of vehicles keep the flow of goods moving while emissions, resource use and human costs accumulate as stowaways.
