The tram to the North Pole is also coming this year

October 3, 2024

For us, nothing says Christmas more than the tram to the North Pole. Together with Feil Teater , we're repeating the success of the previous two years and inviting you to free Christmas theater throughout December and January!

We are so happy to announce that SISTE STOPP: THE NORTH POLE is moving into our Loftet this year too. This is the same Christmas show as last year, which means that even more children will be able to experience the heartwarming and popular show in the run-up to Christmas - completely free of charge.

LAST STOP: NORTH POLE is produced by Feil Teater in collaboration with Kloden theatre, and is about 12-year-old Alva Sørensen who has listened to her grandmother's fairy tales about the magical tram transport ever since she was little. Now Alva must get to the North Pole with her wish before it's too late. If she doesn't get there in time, she is in danger of losing the most precious thing she has.

Low-income families have first priority

Organizations in the field of child poverty have first priority for tickets to the performance. Until November 7, only these organizations can secure tickets. On November 7, the rest of the tickets will be released for everyone, and you need to be quick. Last year, tickets were snapped up in less than an hour.

Tickets go on sale November 7th at 11:00 AM at kloden .no and feilteater.com.

The boundaries between theater and what is real are blurred

Vilde Johannessen and Sebastian Skytterud Myers from Feil Teater have stopped by to make plans for this year's performance.

– We are very happy that the performance will have a new lease of life. It is an important target group, and since there are not many audiences who can see the performance at a time with the 20 or so seats, it is nice to be able to show it to even more people this year. In addition, it is a crazy amount of work to create a fantasy universe of 300 square meters in an old office space. We didn't have to tear everything down and throw it away, it has been stored here at Kloden theatre, and we look forward to finding it again. Since last year, parts of the scenography, created by Frida Vige Helle, have also been on display at the Intercultural Museum, says Sebastian.

Vilde and Sebastian received a lot of good feedback last year. Parents told us about children who wouldn't stop talking about the characters and themes, and who were "in a hundred" during the performance. Many thanked us for giving them the opportunity to experience the show with their children, and for saving them the cost of a ticket during the Christmas season when many families with children are under financial pressure.

- We can mention an experience from last year when the audience arrived at the North Pole and the show was over. A little boy looked up and asked: "When does the theater start?". He didn't realize that it was the theater, what he had been involved in. It's not always easy for children to distinguish between what is theater and what is real. It's great fun to experience how they become so engrossed in what's happening. We were also lucky enough to get a lot of good reviews, which also contributes to us wanting to do it again this year," says Vilde.

Ambitions for a fourth show

LAST STOP: THE NORTH POLE is performance number three in the series about the tram that goes to the North Pole. The two previous productions are 11-THE TRAM GOES TO THE NORTH POLE and THE NORTH POLE MAGIC TRAM TRANSPORT. The latter received the Hedda Award for Best Children's Show in 2023.

- "Even though this is the third production about the North Pole tram, it's the fifth year we've put on one of the shows. We have ambitions to create a fourth show, but we can't say much about that yet," says Vilde.

To transform Loftet into the unique North Pole universe, Feil Teater has set aside two weeks to build the stage and a week and a half for rehearsals. The same actors who were involved last year are also involved this year.

- "The show is the same as last year, but this is interactive, live theater, so the tram ride to the North Pole is a little different every night," says Sebastian.
