Veven - Pleiade

Wednesday, November 27 at 09:30 and 11:15

For children from 6 years with adults

The nature we live in has endless secrets. Beneath the ground there is a vast invisible network that the forest uses to communicate. Through invisible threads of fungi, nutrients and information are exchanged in complex collaborations. This subterranean network is the inspiration for Veven, a musical fantasy performance by Pleiade that explores this magical world.

The story follows the quiet and shy Karoline and her wild friend Hedvig. One day, while playing in the forest, Karoline discovers that she can hear and talk to the mushrooms in the weave. Hedvig is unable to do so, much to her frustration. This marks the start of an exciting and dangerous journey into the Weave.

Veven is a biological fantasy where the magic of the universe is based on real biological phenomena. With live music, interactive scenography and a rich soundscape, the performance brings the hidden secrets of the forest to life. Nature is more than a struggle for existence - it is also filled with cooperation and community.

Dress rehearsal: Last stop: North Pole Feil teater

Wednesday, November 27 at 18:00

Showbox has received a small number of tickets for delegates at this performance.

Welcome aboard Nordpolen Magiske Trikketransport - the city's most spectacular tram that will take you all the way to the northernmost point on earth. Rumor has it that if you brave the elements and make it to the final stop in one piece, your greatest wish will come true.

At least that's the claim of 12-year-old Alva Sørensen, who has been listening to her grandmother's fairytale stories about the magical tram transport ever since she was a child. Now Alva must get to the North Pole with her wish before it's too late. If she doesn't get there in time, she is in danger of losing the most precious thing in the world.

Last Stop: The North Pole is based on interviews with children from all over Oslo, and takes you on an epic, dramatic and exclusive expedition you won't soon forget.

Wednesday, November 27 at 20:00 (premiere)

Thursday, November 28 at 10:00 am

For youth and adults from 16 years

THE PROMISE OF REVOLUTION is about love for life, art and freedom. It's a tribute to those who refuse to be silenced by the occupation's attempts to break down resistance through censorship, imprisonment and torture. This documentary theater piece by Zoe Delemere Lafferty (Artists on the Frontline) and Ahmed Tobasi (The Freedom Theatre Jenin, Palestine), premieres during Showbox in a version adapted for youth and The Cultural Rucksack.

The Promise of Revolution tells the story of The Freedom Theater in Jenin on the West Bank and includes testimonies from famous Palestinian artists. It is a powerful depiction of life under occupation, where censorship and injustice are central. At the same time, it is a story of courage, perseverance and the power of art as a tool of resistance.
