Showbox, Norway's largest performing arts festival with performances for children and young people, takes place from Monday, November 24 to Thursday, November 27. The festival offers a wide range of performances, talks and discussions about performing arts, and is open to everyone. In 2025, Showbox will be 20 years old!

What happens when oil, heritage and ghosts meet – and come to life on stage?
In Oil-Dino-You, remnants from the exhibition Sophie's Room (MUNCH, 2024) are transformed into a playful universe of song, dance and imagination. Before each performance, the children create a colorful collage backdrop – and when the performance starts, the figures come to life!
Three performers in fantastic costumes take us into a magical world where children's own creatures are the main characters. Here you can see how art turns into a dance performance.
The show premieres on Kloden theatre, and will then visit schools, galleries and libraries. Metal walls and magnetic shapes form the stage – and the children can explore and create their own figures afterwards.

Sophie's Room was the third commissioned work in Come Think with Us! – MUNCH's series of ambitious and immersive art installations for children. (22.03.2024 – 11.08.2024)
By reflecting on the theme of oil, heritage and ghosts, this performance/installation will recycle scenographic and interactive elements from the exhibition "Sofie's Room" 2024 (MUNCH).

I'm going home.
There is the earth.
At home, where I grew up. And peace still exists.
The farm. The barn. The land.
Everything can fall apart at any time.
I have to go home.
I need peace. I need peace. I haven't known peace since I was little.
Since I became a migrant and had no home.
I have to go home. I'm there.
You know that feeling that the world is falling apart around you and not even a great boyfriend can calm your soul and all you need is to crawl into your secret childhood den or drink cocoa in grandma's kitchen and find that place on earth that makes you safe?
Darius has a place like that: the old abandoned family farm, and his cool girlfriend Lucas wants to come along. They just have to pick up the keys first, at Darius's mom and dad's house. There Lucas will meet his in-laws for the first time. Schmack bang, quick in, quick out. And then they'll cruise down Eastern Europe to the family farm in Lithuania and live happily ever after.
It should go smoothly...
BLUE MEN takes place over the course of a night full of love, dreams and longing. We meet a lonely man who paints cows, a punching bag that smells of snus, his mother-in-law's fruit wine and a car accident.
.. and those who survive the night have breakfast together.

Crossroads – Erler

Crossroads is an immersive, site-specific horror theater event for youth.
In a specially built truck, the audience participates in a ritual meeting led by the mysterious Gro. She drives you to the nearest Crossroads, where the road forks and the forces of darkness lurk in the shadows. Could your life be changed forever?
Crossroads stages the dream of "the good life" - and the price of desiring it.
Dertte is the second performance in ERLER's horror theater trilogy — a horror experience where magic, symbolism, and the supernatural will challenge your limits.

The Golden Bear is an award that will honor all those who stand up for the performing arts for a young audience, and contribute to bringing it to children and young people in Norway. This year the award will be presented for the 6th time. The nominees will be published in the fall of 2025.
Showboxfest!

We'll round off the festival and the 20th anniversary with the traditional Showbox party. The DJ is on, the bar is open, and together we'll dance into the night.
