To live on - Rimfrost productions

Monday, November 27 at 13:00 and 18:00

Tuesday, November 28 at 10:00 am

I feel like I'm going to die. Every time. My heart is pounding, I can't breathe, I just have to get away. Just because I see a man in a police uniform. Breathe in, breathe out. It's not dangerous. There you go, there you go. It's okay. Remember you taught me how to breathe like this?

In the monologue performance "Å leve videre" we meet the sister who was on Utøya with her brother. She was 15 years old, he was 21. Her brother never came home again. She recounts the 12 years without her brother and tries to live on with the loss, grief and fear that characterizes everyday life at home in Northern Norway. In her rage after the horrific event, she decides never to get involved in politics again.

At the same time, she is witnessing a society in which politics is becoming more and more polarized, and the perpetrator's extreme views are gaining ground in more and more people. In Norway, we promised each other to "never shut up, never forget", but the important debate that was supposed to take place after July 22 stagnated. In her fictional conversations with her brother, she has a confrontation that leads her to something unexpected.

Rimfrost produksjoner presents the monologue "Å leve videre" (To live on) for a youth audience. The production is written and directed by Nina Wester based on conversations with a family who lost one of their own on Utøya. The monologue reflects experiences after the terror of July 22nd, with a focus on the part of the attack that took place on Utøya.

I go through what happened over and over again for my brain to find a way to understand. Why did it happen? How is it possible? And why was it so quiet afterwards when we promised each other we would never stop shouting?

"Å leve videre" will premiere at Kloden teater during the Showbox Festival 2023 in Oslo.

Target group: Youth

Venue: Pilotscenen

Duration: Approximately 70 minutes

Rock me baby - Solli / Elle

Wednesday, November 29 at 10:00 and 12:00

Thursday, November 30 at 09:30

"Rock me baby" is a dance and theater concert for the youngest - with catchy rock riffs and melodies, sparkling costumes and humor, at a pace and volume that suits everyone.

"Rock me baby" is a performance for children aged 0-5 years, with a scenic expression rarely seen in art meetings for the youngest: Heavy rock riffs, catchy melodies, poetic soundscapes and absurd scenes create excitement among young and old in the audience.

What can art for the youngest be?
With visual and aural expressions from the world of rock, the audience is challenged to wonder what art for the youngest can be - in a safe setting and of course within an acceptable sound level.

The performers appear as a band, composed of five hand-picked musicians and dancers who invite young and old alike into a distinctive and playful universe.

Glittering, critically acclaimed costumes
In the glam rock and poodle rock of the 1970s and 80s, the boundaries between genders became less clear, and the artists often appeared androgynous.

When the ensemble of five male performers in 'Rock me baby' explores this historical trend, it unlocks new possibilities for what gender can be.

Kjell I. Nordstrøm, best known to many from the entertainment series Maskorama on NRK, has designed the show's spectacular costumes.

"The costumes show both young and old that it is allowed to be a man in whatever way you want in this world," wrote reviewer Hilde Halvorsrød in Periskop.

"Rock me Baby" is created by Øystein Elle and Karstein Solli, who have previously collaborated on several popular shows for young children, performed both nationally and internationally.

Target group: From 6 months

Venue: Pilotscenen

Duration: 40-45 min without break

The Chameleons - Unge Viken Teater

Friday, December 1 at 12:00 and 18:00

"Let me be wild, let me be laughing
In my own language
What you hear is not noise
It's my soul that moves"

"Kameleonene" is about growing up and cross-cultural identity. About groping to find yourself, to find your place and where you belong. About sending heart emojis to grandma in Tunisia because you don't speak the same language, about blending in, sticking out, about love that is like candy, about "skin-colored" pencils, about racism and prejudice, about secret codes, about adapting so well that you lose yourself and about finding your group of friends and how you are allowed to change throughout your life.

When you grow up between two cultures, as a chameleon you are an expert at adapting to different environments, people, languages, cultures and codes. You possess a chameleon competence that not everyone has.

"The Chameleons" is a physical performance where text, dance and music are equally important. The soundscape is composed by 18-year-old Tayza Naing. The performance is based on interviews and texts from young people in Oslo and Viken, conversations with people with cross-cultural backgrounds and the artists' own experiences.

"Seriously! Don't call me a minority language speaker when my language has 100 words for love!"

"I blend into my surroundings like a chameleon. It's quite a useful skill. The best place to hide is in open places no one will look"

"I'm a chameleon when I'm at school. I feel adapted. Tired, but adapted"

"The chameleon is hiding. I run and cycle from the tanks. As a chameleon you have to drift and adapt to everything, one of the worst things I know"

Target audience: From 13 years old

Venue: Pilotscenen

Duration: 45 minutes

Project Dictator (UK) - Rhum+Clay

Saturday, December 2 at 14:00 and 18:00

... or why democracy is overrated and I don't miss it at all.

Project Dictator by British Rhum+Clay is as funny as it is heartbreaking, as intimate as it is universal. The show is a breakneck guide to totalitarianism that includes military coups, campaign slogans, populism and the degradation of humanity - all while being highly entertaining and fun!

There will be slapstick, clown fun, satire and storytelling.

In the process of creating the performance, the company has had conversations with artists from Syria, Venezuela, Brazil, Hungary, Thailand, Turkey and Azerbaijan, all with experience of making art in totalitarian regimes. The performance is a commentary on the political climate in the world today, and it is created to communicate with people across borders.

Target group: From 16 years old

Venue: Pilotscenen

Duration: 60 minutes

Language: English
