And here I Am // Ahmed Tobasi
How do you hold on to hope and identity when life is marked by war and conflict?
What happens to a person who grows up in war and conflict? Based on the life of Palestinian refugee Ahmed Tobassi, this powerful performance follows an upbringing marked by both resistance, loss and hope – from the streets of the Jenin camp to Israeli prison and on to art as an expression of freedom.
Through a mix of humor, seriousness, fact and fantasy, award-winning playwright Hassan Abdulrazzak tells a gripping story about identity, belonging and the struggle to be heard.
The performance gives students a close encounter with human experiences behind the news images, and opens up for reflection on conflict, freedom and cultural resistance – both past and present.
The performance is performed in Arabic, with Norwegian subtitles.
