Oil-Dino-Du won the Hedda Award for best children's show 2026
June 14, 2026
Kloden theatre has every reason to celebrate: The co-production Oil-Dino-Du has been awarded the Hedda Prize 2026 in the category of best children's performance. The prize was presented during this year's Hedda Prize ceremony at the National Theatre on June 14.
The performance is created by Roza Moshtaghi and Ronak Moshtaghi in collaboration with Kloden theatre and Den kulturellter skolesekken Oslo, and was highlighted by the jury for its playful, innovative and audience-engaging expression.
In its assessment, the Heddajuryen highlights how Oil-Dino-Du invites children in as active co-creators. The performance unfolds around an interactive installation where the audience together builds a landscape of soft, magnetic shapes, which form the scenography and bring the performance's characters to life.
Oil-Dino-Du takes the audience into a peculiar universe where absurd, oily flowers grow – a place between fairy tales and our own reality. Here, oil acts as a portal between past and present, pointing to a heritage we are all a part of.
The installation is made from recycled elements from Sophie's Room , a commissioned work by Roza and Ronak Moshtaghi shown at MUNCH in 2024, and continues the artists' work with interactive and immersive art experiences for children.
Both artists have an established practice at the interface between performing arts and visual arts. Roza Moshtaghi is an Oslo-based choreographer and artist who explores the body, movement and social structures, while Ronak Moshtaghi works with drawing, sculpture and installation with a focus on language, power and decolonial perspectives.
That Oil-Dino-Du came away with the victory in a strong category, where also Kloden -the co-production Vesenet was nominated, emphasizing the high level of performing arts for children in Norway today.
Kloden The theatre would like to extend a big thank you to all the actors, collaborators and audience members who have been part of the journey.
