North Pole Magic Tram Transport: The best children's show of the year

June 19, 2023

The Hedda jury has spoken. Nordpolen Magiske Trikketransport is a cohesive, well-crafted and fully-fledged artistic offering.

On Sunday evening, during the ceremonial Hedda Awards ceremony, Feil Teater 's performance North Pole Magical Trikketransport won in the best children's performance category, to full cheers from the audience.

Kloden teater is co-Producer on the show that premiered on loftet at Kloden teater on December 1, 2022 and ran until January 2023.

- A thoroughly human performance

Nordpolen Magiske Trikketransport was in distinguished company. The other nominees in the category were Brageteateret with the production Eldorado and Trøndelag Theatre with the production The Mermaid. The jury's justification states:

Those who want to create performing arts for children must know that they are not just a target group and the audience of the future. They are an audience that, here and now, deserves a coherent, thorough and fully-fledged artistic offering. All of this year's nominees have understood this quality. The winner has managed to create a magical world that plays alongside us as a co-creating force in the performance. Through a game that is immersive and all-encompassing, we are invited into an engaging, wise and interactive theatrical journey. It is an exciting and nerve-wracking escape from a CEO. She is a representative of the cynicism that will destroy the foundation of this thoroughly humane production. We are safely guided through by a young and impressively skilled actor, who is able to play with us, engage us and improvise in front of us without losing control for a moment.

The Hedda jury's reasoning

A scenographic universe

Kjell Moberg, artistic director at Kloden teater, believes that the ability to listen to the target audience, in addition to the scenographic universe the performance gives the audience, explains some of Feil Teater 's success.

- As artistic director, it's extra fun that Feil Teater wins this award. I was the director of their graduation production in the theater program at Nord University. Since then I have followed the company closely. We'll be hearing a lot from them in the years to come," says Moberg.

Before the premiere of the award-winning play, it took several weeks to prepare loftet on Kloden teater.

- The performance is a total theater experience where the audience is led from room to room in a scenographic universe. To achieve this, office space in the administration was used as dressing rooms," says Moberg.
