Kloden The theatre helped arrange a cultural meeting with other representatives, with the goal of collaborating on urban development in Hovinbyen.
FAU representatives, cultural actors and the cultural industry were at a cultural meeting on Thursday this week. The meeting was initiated by ByLab Oslo and Kulturarena Bjerke – which consists of Bydel Bjerke, Oslo Cultural School, Deichman with Demo Linderud and Kloden theater. District Bjerke and Økern Center ANS has taken the initiative to establish ByLab Oslo, which is a physical arena and is located at Økern Center.
The aim of the meeting was to facilitate better cooperation on urban development in Hovinbyen and Økern.
Sixty representatives from various cultural institutions, the City of Oslo and private developers participated.
The cultural field in general, and how different parts of cultural production are worked on, were presented by the actors Bydel Bjerke, ByLab, the Norwegian Agency for Culture, Kloden theatre, Oxer Eiendom, Oslo Cultural School, Deichman, Nysirkus Bjerke, Andreas Amble, Hanan Benammar, Viken Film Center, Kulturalliansen, Oslo Music Council, FAU Løren School, Levende By, Norwegian Dance Association, Økern Sentrum and the Planning and Building Agency.
Among the questions that were reflected on were:
- How do we secure premises for cultural purposes in the urban development of Hovinbyen, both temporary and permanent?
- Which players can share and collaborate on premises?
- What is important to include in Hovinbyen's cultural strategy?
The cultural strategy being developed under the auspices of the Bjerke district will contribute to a greater degree of varied cultural offerings in the district, and secure premises for various cultural purposes in Hovinbyen.
Culture is vital
