In 2022, it will be 50 years since sex between men was decriminalized in Norway. This is an important milestone in Norwegian history that is being marked with a queer culture year across the country. Small and large art and cultural actors are invited to document, communicate and discuss queer art, culture and history. Kloden The theatre celebrates both diversity and queer culture! We are also extra happy to announce that we will be showing the dance performance Blooming, from August 23rd to August 26th.
Blooming deals with experiences around gender roles and gender ideals with a focus on how masculinity and femininity are considered within different cultures. The performance is composed of costumes, music, scenography and dance. All participants define themselves as queer and have a desire to make visible, include and expand queer expressions. The audience will experience poetic images through movement material.
During the 3 performance days, Blooming will be shown a total of nine times at Kloden theatre. There will be 8 school performances, and one public screening. The target audience for the performance is children, youth and adults of all ages.
Blooming is presented with support from the Arts Council for the Queer Culture Year 2022.
