« Kloden mini»: Kindergartens in Oslo get free performing arts

April 28, 2025

Over 800 children get to see performances here at the house or in their kindergarten through Kloden theater in summer and autumn.

This is made possible, among other things, by the DNB Savings Bank Foundation providing support to « Kloden mini" for the fourth year in a row.

« Kloden mini – Art for Kindergarten Children 25” is this year's series of free performances aimed at children aged 0-3 and 3-5. We invite you to performances here at the house, and also send professional performances out to kindergartens.

Win-win

One of our goals is to reach as many children as possible with good performing arts. Kindergarten is therefore an important arena. Through « Kloden mini" we want to help children develop creative abilities and experience mastery. All children and young people, regardless of their parents' financial and social background, have the right to participate in cultural life.

– It is important that children experience professional performing arts at an early age, and we want to help children develop their artistic senses and critical abilities. This is especially important in an increasingly digital and screen-based world, says Artistic Director Ådne Sekkelsten.

Kloden theatre will also through « Kloden mini" further develop the collaboration with our resource kindergartens. This is a win-win situation where the resource kindergartens contribute to the development of future performances when artists need to test out their material on the target audience.

– Young children encounter art in their own way. They are present with their whole being, and with all their senses. I love working with this group, says Raymond Sereba, one of the performing artists in « Kloden "mini".
