Heda days on the globe

March 21, 2022

Heddadagene is Norway's theatre festival, bringing together a wide range of performing arts from all over the country for ten days of performances, events and professional programs in Oslo. The festival is young, but springs from the well-established Hedda Prize. Together with the nominations for the Hedda Prize, the Hedda Days show a cross-section of the breadth and diversity of Norwegian performing arts.

34 performing arts institutions from Kristiansand in the south to Kautokeino in the north have joined forces to create Heddadagene, and the festival is a volunteer effort where the institutions contribute with their professional and financial resources. The performances in the program are selected by the artistic directors at these institutions, from their own repertoire, and the goal is to show the breadth and quality of the performing arts created across the country. The festival concludes with the presentation of the Hedda Prize.

Here at Kloden we will also be hosting Heddadager, and we have the pleasure of welcoming Haugesund teater, Kilden teater and Østfold Internasjonale teater to us. Here you will have a unique opportunity to see five of their plays.

Haugesund Teater - Instamamma

Instamamma is a lady with a spotless home, who gives the best to her children. It's just such a shame that Sol, soon to be 9, is so difficult. And that she hangs out with Marco, with that weird grandma. Bring the whole family to a performance filled with crazy parents, tiring big sisters and a big dose of humor! Suitable for children aged 8 and up.

Østfold International Theatre - This life or the next

When the war in Syria broke out, almost 100 young Norwegians traveled to the conflict areas. One of them was Tariq from Østfold. This is his story."This Life or the Next" is a highly topical performance about the search for meaning and community - and about getting lost along the way. The show is suitable for young people and adults.

Kilden Theater - Sheherazade - and the word that lasted for 1001 nights

The story of a young and wise girl, Sheherazade, who is able to use words in a way that no one else can. When she is trapped in the castle of an angry and unjust king, it turns out that stories can have more power than you might think.

This is an enchanting performance for children and adults about life, imagination and survival. In the show we meet wizards and wives, spirits, dragons, ghosts and other magical creatures as Sheherazade turns words into magic! This family show is based on The Arabian Nights, a collection of fairy tales from India, Persia and the Middle East from the 9th century. Suitable for children aged 6 and up.

Brageteatret - On the way home

Vilde Kamfjord's beautiful children's book På omveien hjem becomes theater! Join Vinde and Britt on the train to Lillehammer.

Vinde has taken the train all by herself, without her parents knowing. Coincidentally, on this train, Britt is sitting next to her. Since Vinde is not afraid to talk to strangers - how else are you supposed to get to know someone new - they start talking. They talk quite a lot. They simply get to know each other really well. Suitable for children from 10 years old.

Brageteatret - Bulletproof vest

With Yahya Hassan's poetry, we want to invite you into a merciless world of fear, bulletproof vests and lack of opportunity. But while trauma reigns, there are also traces of humor, pink thongs, hashish and hope. Danish-Palestinian Yahya Hassan made his debut as a groundbreaking poet with Danish publishing house Gyldendal at the age of 18 and made his mark as a strong and brutal critic of both his own upbringing and Danish society. Suitable for teenagers and young adults.

Unge Viken teater - The fabulous flakes

In collaboration with Unge Viken teater and Heddadagene, we invite you to a fun and imaginative outdoor performance full of surprises! Unge Viken teater plays Fabelflakseren in front of Fubiak - Furuset bibliotek og Aktivitetshus. There's something hiding in the colorful car! But what is it? Two expectant types open the car and present a big flower? Or wait - a funnel! Are they going to play music? The performance is free and suitable for children aged 3-6 years.
