Behind the scenes at Kloden theater: Clara's daily practice
September 19, 2025
Clara is studying Project Management for the Arts and Creative Industries at Kristiania University College, and has contributed her commitment, expertise and personal qualities to the production of several events with us for two weeks. We spoke with Clara about her experiences and reflections from her internship.
Why Kloden Theatre?
– I wanted to try an internship at a theater, and found out that there were a lot of exciting things happening there. Kloden theatre during the period I was going to do my internship. In my mind, it also seemed better to apply for an internship in a slightly smaller place, as you might get more opportunities to try out different tasks. I thought it was exciting that Kloden theatre is a new theatre in growth, with a clear focus on children and young people. I have been interested in theatre since I was little, and have acted in and seen a lot of theatre. Theatre and performing arts have always been important to me.
What have been the most exciting tasks during your internship?
– The most exciting part has probably been participating in the planning of the Bollywood drive-in cinema. Otherwise, it has been fun to make posters and invitations, book schools and kindergartens, host, and gain insight into the technical aspects such as the ticket system.
I have gained insight into what it is like to be a programming theater and how much work goes into planning events and collaborating with various actors.
What has it been like to be present at the performances ?
– The Palestinian Cultural Festival was both very enjoyable and emotional, and it was nice to be able to contribute with a couple of extra hands during the implementation. Otherwise, I have seen two very different and very nice performances at Pilotscenen and Loftet .
Are there any moments that have made a special impression on you?
– Lying in a bed as an audience member during a screening of Haunted House by Helle Siljeholm and Ingri Fiksdal was something I had never experienced before, and it created a different experience that was very cool. Highly recommended! I have also been carrying around one song from Fantasmagoria in my head, pretty much throughout my internship.

How was it to be welcomed by the staff at Kloden Teater?
– It's been so nice! Everyone has been very welcoming and open. Of course, I was a little nervous before I came here the first day, but I went home the same day with a good feeling. I so appreciate the way I've been welcomed by all the nice people here!
How would you describe the working environment at Kloden Teater?
– Inclusive, efficient and safe are three appropriate words, I would say. There is a good tone in the office, and everyone is nice. It seems like everyone is happy with their job, so even though everyone has a lot to do, the good atmosphere is maintained. You are also encouraged to share your opinions, and it feels safe to do so. In other words; a good working environment.
What is something you will take with you?
– Contributing to providing good theater experiences for children and young people is something I am passionate about. I leave here with a greater understanding of both children and the importance of them receiving quality art adapted to them.
Would you recommend others to apply for an internship at Kloden Teater ?
– Absolutely! Here you get to try many different things, can make requests about what you want to focus on, and are taken care of.
If you want an internship where you get responsibility and are not left without work tasks, I can highly recommend Kloden theater.
We in Kloden Teater would like to thank Clara for the effort and commitment she has made with us. Her work will contribute to our continued work to create a national theater house for children and young people. We wish her the best of luck with her studies, and cheer her on from Kabelgata in Økern!
