Soleiman and the Queen of Sheba - Kloden teater

Soleiman and the Queen of Sheba is a musical storytelling theater about Soleiman who dreams of becoming king of the whole world. If he becomes king, he promises to be kind and serve the people. One day he is visited by a bird of prey who brings him a red ruby ring. Soleiman puts the ring on his finger and gains all the wisdom and magical powers you can imagine. He becomes the ruler of humans, animals, fairies and djinn, and the king of the whole world.

But can Soleiman do what he has promised? And what happens when he finds out that there is another ruler out there; a queen who is just as wise as him?

Welcome to a world of trønder-rocking djinn, flying carpets, DJ queens, kings with a need to pee and donkeys that take over the throne and turn the world upside down.

The play is based on Jewish and Muslim legends about King Solomon, and retold by storyteller Mehda Zolfaqari. The music is composed by Marie Sahba, who is both musician and actor on stage. Using oral storytelling, interactivity, puppets and humor, the performers try to address themes such as power, government, cooperation and the importance of sharing.
