Safarium - Landing

Saturday June 9 at 11:00 and 16:00 / Klodenteltet in front of Nationaltheatret
60 minutes

They defrost and roll, mash and cuddle - Safarium is an interactive dance performance for children, a performance, workshop, laboratory and safari. The children in the audience are invited to explore space and movement together with three dancers.

Through sensory exploration of the space, or basket embraces, the audience gets to experience both physical power and sensibility up close. The aim is to challenge the audience to experience the body beyond the everyday. The landscape functions both as a performance space and as a temporary installation - a work of art in itself.

Since its premiere in 2014, "Safarium" has been performed at festivals such as the Sand Festival in Kristiansand, Multiplié Dance Festival in Trondheim, Kortreist Dance Festival in Inderøy, UNGI Festival in Reykjavik and Imagine Children's Festival in London. The performance is made in close collaboration with Signo School and Competence Center.

Landing was founded in 2005 by a group of 11 dance and performing artists. The company seeks to be in dialog with new entities and individuals in society. By initiating and researching different forms of encounters with their audience, they wish to contribute to making contemporary dance art relevant and popular among more people.
