Over two weekends, young people from TekstLab Unge Stemmer will present their work in collaboration with artists in a series of performative and site-specific events in the public space at Tøyen. The focus is on the young people's own stories about memories, place and belonging.

TekstLab Young Voices - Tøyen is part of TeksLab's artistic program for, with and by young people in Oslo. TekstLab is an arena for developing new voices, narratives and productions in the arts. TekstLab has a unique position in Oslo in terms of community work and "grassroots" laboratories over many years, connecting young people from different parts of Oslo with young or well-established artists.

TekstLab Young Voices - Tøyen is part of TekstLab's documentary artistic program the politics of identity. Here, children, youth and artists explore the personal experience of living in a glocal society where the global constitutes our daily lives, in a way that challenges how we understand ourselves and others. This forms the basis for scenic narratives that expand our understanding of our own identity, belonging, exclusion and community.

TekstLab Ung is supported by Arts Council Norway, Sparebankstiftelsen DNB, the City of Oslo, Bydel Gamle Oslo and Områdeløft Grønland and Tøyen, Kulturtanken and Bergesenstiftelsen.

Dancer and choreographer Mia Habib and dance and sound artist Jassem Hindi have together created "Oslohendelser" - a series of six performative events that will take place in Oslo during the fall. Oslohendelser is a collaboration between TrAP and Kloden teater. Read about the full program here
