Oslo events: S.P.R.Å.K. - Maritea Dæhlin

Language as sound, language as meaning, language as emotion -shame, pride, pain, joy-, language for the resourceful, language as currency, language as roots, language as rhythm, language as energy, language as identity, language as sanctuary, language for the less resourceful, language as text, language as communication, language as signs, language as walls, language as matter -which shrinks and disappears or grows and takes over-, language as dreams, language as dimensions, language as great-grandmothers, language as letters, language as data, language as codes.

A sound piece with local voices.

Performing artist Maritea Dæhlin, with collaborator Arturo Tovar Lopez, will meet people at Furuset for conversations. The conversations will be recorded and become a sound work with local voices. The sound work can be experienced at Fubiak, and opens on Saturday, December 4 at 14.00. The work will be on display for a week.

Through her art, Dæhlin often explores themes such as exotification, language and loneliness, which are present in both her solo performance "I WANT TO BE TRADITIONAL" and her future performance "Originally a plant".

Dancer and choreographer Mia Habib and dance and sound artist Jassem Hindi have together created "Oslohendelser" - a series of six performative events that will take place in Oslo during the fall. Oslohendelser is a collaboration between TrAP and Kloden teater. Read about the full program here
