THE WALL - Sanzén Productions

How do children living in war play? What do daily existential threats and the brutal warfare of adults do to a small child? What does the dream of something beautiful look like?

Two children meet daily to play by a wall in a war-torn country. They have to flee. Before they can leave the country, one of the children dies against the wall.

MUREN is a poetic, powerful and playful performance about children in war and on the run, based on interviews with refugees:

- The fear was always there. In the air. Everywhere. Ever present. You could feel it. Taste it. Breathe it.

- When I talked to my friends about the horrors, we always said that the best thing that could happen was to go to heaven.

- I remember once we were driving in the car and I saw a rocket that lit up the sky in yellow, orange and red, as if the whole sky was glowing. It was beautiful. At night I was sometimes scared. We slept on the roof of the house because the sky was so beautiful when it exploded. It was dangerous, but beautiful.
