The theater production LA GENTE DE LA TIERRA / THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH tells the story of Rosa Avendaño. A Chilean woman who, like many others, is forced to migrate to Norway because of the dictatorship in Chile in the late 1990s.
The production is based on the personal story of one of the members of the theater company.
Fifty years after the Pinochet dictatorship, we ask ourselves the question: What have we learned from the past? How does this history resonate with us today?
Norway and Chile, two cultures that may seem distant from each other, are discovered through an essential necessity. Mezcolanza Theatre wants to tell the story of people who had to give up their identity due to violence and seek a new cultural identity. The production addresses social themes such as migration and adaptation.
LA GENTE DE LA TIERRA / THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH is realized through devising techniques, puppetry, a pinch of electronic music and a large portion of love.
ATTENTION! A smoke machine and strobe lights are used.

The theater work "La gente de la tierra / The people of the earth" tells the story of Rosa Avendaño. Una chilena que, como muchas otras, tuvo que migrar a Noruega a causa de la dictadura de Pinochet en Chile a finales de los años 90.
La historia de la obra está basada en la historia personal de uno de los integrantes de la compañía Mezcolanza Theater
Cincuenta años después de la dictadura de Pinochet, nos nos preguntamos: ¿Qué hemos aprendido del pasado? ¿Cómo resuena esta historia en nosotros hoy?
Noruega y Chile, dos culturas que pueden parecer lejanas, se descubren por una necesesidad imprescindible. La compania Mezcolanza Theater quiere quiere contar la historia de personas que tuvieron que tuvieron que renunciar a su identidad a causa de la violencia y buscar una nueva identidad cultural. La actuación aborda temas sociales como la migración y la adaptación.
LA GENTE DE LA TIERRA / THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH se realiza a través de devising techniques, teatro de títeres, con música electrónica y una gran dosis de amor.
