Cockroach - Marit Røste

Cockroach was screened on 14.12.22 at 19:00 (world premiere), on 15.12.22 at 19:00, on 16.12.22 at 19:00

In the monologue performance Cockroach, Marit Røste talks openly, honestly and humorously about her experiences of being very overweight, and what it is like to grow up and live with the eating disorder binge eating disorder.

Why is being fat worse than being mean?

It's surprising how provocative it can be to see an overweight person with good self-esteem. And it's clear that our culture has developed a basic attitude that being thin is the same as being successful.
With Cockroach, Marit Røste wants to wake up a society that is about to make things worse when it comes to issues of obesity, overweight and eating disorders.

Obesity is a growing problem, not only in Norway, but also worldwide. Soon there will be as many people who are very overweight as there are "normal weight" people in the world. Yet it's still only the obese who have a problem. Is it really that simple?

The performance is suitable for everyone over the age of 16.
