What I talk about when I talk about running - Det Andre Teateret

In this performance you will meet Fredrik Høyer. He is a poet and writer. He was once challenged to run the Oslo Marathon. But what exactly is running? Is it an escape, a striving, a struggle or a relaxation? In the performance, Høyer races towards the goal to see what the prize is in the end.

We are often challenged to be more determined and not give up. But it's not always easy to think positively when the wall comes hurtling towards you as fast as you move forward.

The production is developed by Det Andre Teatret. In collaboration with director Nils Petter Mørland, Fredrik Høyer has created a performance where slam poetry, oral storytelling and Det Andre Teatret's audience-oriented and loose theatrical expression meet. The performance is inspired by Haruki Murakami's book of the same title.

Fredrik Høyer made his novel debut with Månehund & fatter'n in 2014. In 2016, he published Grønlandsūtraen, a collection of poems in the form of both a book and an album, set to music by the musicians Fredfades & Eikrem. The same year, Grønlandsūtraen was adapted into a performance that played to full houses at Nationaltheatret, a monologue written and performed by Fredrik Høyer.

The production is developed by Det Andre Teatret, which opened its doors in September 2011 as Norway's first and only theater focusing on improvisation. Since then, Det andre teatret has grown every year, and in recent years they have been visited by more than 30,000 audience members annually.
