The Hedda Festival : Theatre as the third place
|
The seminar is free. Remember to get your free ticket in advance to be sure of getting a seat. Click on "Free". Kloden Teater invites you to the seminar "Theater as the Third Place". We are following up on last year's Hedda Seminar on this topic, and have invited Norwegian and foreign theaters that have succeeded in making the theater an important place for children, youth and the local community, and that work purposefully to strengthen the local community and make room for new voices and perspectives. Brixton House from London, Samovarteateret from Kirkenes and Rosendal Teater from Trondheim will participate through talks and presentations. In addition, Kloden theatre and the architects at Transborder Studio present their plans to create a natural and relevant artistic meeting place for children and youth. Kloden theater is being built, and in 2027 we will move from temporary premises to a permanent theater house with multiple stages and rehearsal rooms where children and young people can experience the best professional performing arts from Norway and abroad. And just as important: Kloden Theater becomes a "third place" - a place between home and school where children and young people meet, are part of creative processes, experience good performing arts, or are just allowed to be alone if they wish. In this development work, we are very keen to both seek out and share experiences from home and abroad, in order to create such a place. Kloden The theatre participates in Scenekunstbruket's Creative Europe project '3Place', which will also be presented and referenced during the seminar. After the seminar, we will show the performance "CamperGurlZ – Life is (not always) a highway" by and with Lisa Thun and Madeleine F. Røseth. There will be an opportunity to purchase food and drinks throughout the evening. |

Since its establishment, Kloden Teater has explored what performing arts and a theater house can be for the city's young people who today do not see the theater as a natural place for them. How do we develop a theater in collaboration with both the art field and the young people - a place where the young people choose to meet, the third place ? As a partner in the EU project 'Performing Arts as the Third Place' (led by Scenekunstbruket) we are also investigating methods and practices for implementing this in daily operations.
The Samovarteateret has been taking the pulse of the Barents border region since 1990. With the project "Icebreakers", the theater has now started a dialogue about the major challenges facing the local community. The purpose is to create a safe space for reflection and understanding, with the goal of breaking the silence.
Rosendal Theatre presents performing arts on its two stages, and also has an informal café where people of all ages gather around food, drinks and art events. The theatre works to make the house and the art relevant and accessible to people regardless of background and functional variations.
Brixton House has evolved alongside the arts scene and the local community, with a history dating back to the 1930s. The theatre is known for supporting artists from marginalised communities, and offers events that foster community through artistic activities.
There will be an opportunity to purchase food and drinks throughout the evening.
The seminar ends with the performance "CamperGurlZ – life is (not always) a highway" by and with Lisa Thun and Madeleine F. Røseth.

Camping is not just camping, it's a "feeling".
“CamperGurlZ – life is (not always) a highway” is an interactive, outdoor theater performance for youth and young adults.
CamperGurlZ is all about cars.
About taking responsibility for one's own freedom.
About independence and mastery.
And about a mobile micro-adventure, loaded with an old Primus stove, a pinch of environmental shame, and a really good bed, that takes you to places where you can disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself.
“I get in the car, turn on my own cruise control, and just…go.”
Welcome to a camp that is a little out of the ordinary!
We ask the audience to bring their own cup, and dress appropriately, because this camp is always OUTDOORS!
