Five grown men dance, sing and play catchy new rock songs in a new groundbreaking performance for a very young audience (0-1 years) with parents - Is it possible? YES! It is.

Rock me Baby is a new dance-theater-music production for the youngest children aged 0-3 years by Øystein Elle /Capto Musicae and Karstein Solli Productions. Solli and Elle have previously created several productions for young children that have been very well received, reviewed and performed both nationally and internationally.

Rock me Baby particularly explores the art encounters toddlers can experience with their fathers, so we especially encourage men accompanied by their babies aged 0-1 years to visit Rock me Baby. With a visual expression, references and stylistic features from the world of rock, both adults and small children are challenged to experience and take part in what art for the youngest can be? In a safe environment and of course within acceptable decibel levels for both young and old!

This time, Solli and Elle are going further than ever before in challenging their audience. They have brought fashion and costume designer Kjell I. Nordstöm on board. Nordstöm, who is well known to most people after NRK's blockbuster Maskorama, where he created the spectacular characters. A hand-picked male ensemble with a solid background in dance, theater and music invites young and old alike into a unique universe.

Research shows that potentially vulnerable groups, such as children and young people with disabilities, are rarely given the opportunity to participate in cultural activities. There is thus a gap between the statutory rights to participate in cultural activities for the entire population and the actual offerings for groups that need adaptations to be able to participate.

With Avslappa program, Go Figure wants to offer theatre for those who need a slightly more "relaxed" climate in the theatre space, or for those who need adaptation of various kinds. We are inspired by the UK's long-standing focus on Relaxed Theatre, which in turn is based on the idea that the theater is perceived as inaccessible to those with sensory challenges. Relaxed Theatre is therefore adapted for people with learning disabilities, autism and other sensory challenges. This is done primarily by adapting the use of sound and light, as well as providing appropriate information before and during the performances. The theaters often have their own quiet corner, shielded from all the impressions, with cushions, blankets and hearing protection available for loan. The aim is to make the theater experience accessible by making it predictable and safe.

Many of our performances are already well suited for audiences with hearing impairments, as they are often without language. In the long term, we want to ensure that all verbal performances are interpreted in sign language, and that as many performances as possible are interpreted for the visually impaired.

The performance is part of Go Figure! Festival for puppetry and visual performing arts, a biennial in Oslo that was held for the first time in 2018.
