GoFigure! Relax: kinShips - Øyteatret

kinShips are shown as part of GoFigure!'s "relaxed program". GoFigure!'s relaxed program is not open to everyone, but is adapted to those who need a little more "relaxed" forms. Read more about relaxed performances below. Get in touch and see if the show could be something for you. Send an email to info@gofigure.no and request tickets, and we will contact you as soon as possible to clarify your wishes and needs.

kinShips is a tribute to the extended family (kin). A tribute to the symbiotic allied organisms that surround us daily and protect us from intruders. The project invites the audience into the microscopic on the skin, into an embracing universe of microbial movement. kinShips explores mutual coexistence and exchange.

The journey takes place in your own (kin)ship; a huge single-celled bacterium with room for you and your chosen family.

Duration: 35 minutes. The actors are happy to have a chat both before and after the performance for those who wish.

Age: For anyone in need of a slightly more "relaxed" climate in the theater room, or for those who need adaptation of various kinds. Get in touch and see if kinShips could be something for you.

Relax program - tickets

During this show, it is perfectly fine to go in and out of the performance space if you need a break. Hearing protection and cushions are available in a quieter corner, and it is possible to have a good look around the set before the performance begins. You can also talk to the performers. Information material can be sent in advance so that you are well prepared before your visit. The performance is free of charge. If you wish to support Go Figure, you can transfer an optional amount. Send an email to info@gofigure.no and request tickets, and we will contact you as soon as possible to clarify your wishes and needs.

Research shows that potentially vulnerable groups, such as children and young people with disabilities, are rarely given the opportunity to participate in cultural activities. There is thus a gap between the statutory rights to participate in cultural activities for the entire population and the actual offerings for groups that need adaptations to be able to participate.

With Avslappa program, Go Figure wants to offer theatre for those who need a slightly more "relaxed" climate in the theatre space, or for those who need different kinds of adaptations. We are inspired by the UK's long-standing commitment to Relaxed Theatre, which in turn is based on the idea that the theater is perceived as inaccessible to those with sensory challenges. Relaxed Theatre is therefore adapted for people with learning disabilities, autism and other sensory challenges. This is done primarily by adapting the use of sound and light, as well as providing appropriate information before and during performances. Theaters often have their own quiet corner, shielded from all the impressions, with cushions, blankets and hearing protection available for loan. The aim is to make the theater experience accessible by making it predictable and safe.

Many of our performances are already well suited for audiences with hearing impairments, as they are often without language. In the long term, we want to ensure that all verbal performances are interpreted in sign language, and that as many performances as possible are interpreted for the visually impaired.

The performance is part of Go Figure! Festival for puppetry and visual performing arts, a biennial in Oslo that was held for the first time in 2018.
