Just a wet mouth - Lindeberg / Nilsen

They have attended a womb festival, delved into literature, searched their own gender play and searched for their inner - and outer - goddess in preparation for this production. But first and foremost, they have listened to women.

If women have failed to create 'universal' art because we are trapped in the personal, why not make the 'personal' universal and make it the subject of our art? - Chris Kraus

Bare en våt munn is a documentary theater performance in which the newly established company Lindeberg/Nilsen examines Western culture's ideas about femininity. The material consists of some twenty in-depth interviews with women of different ages and backgrounds, autobiographical texts, gender symbolism and popular culture clichés.How do we relate to a female identity that is expected to be played out and maintained by women? What is behind our own staging? In the gray areas? In the play between submission and dominance, in the tension between desire, annihilation and love?

"In Just a Wet Mouth I felt a sincere communion with these young women, all women, through all times. Finally, I could sink effortlessly into sisterhood, shame, pride, motherhood and intimacy, along with all the women who were in the auditorium at the time."

"In our quasi-liberated times, this work is, in my view, an artistic response to a collective and individual situation that cries out for this kind of open, unflinching way of dealing with this knotty, taboo subject matter."
