Asphalt pulse - Nilay and the gang

Asphalt Pulse was played on September 5, 2018 at 12:00 and September 15, 2018 at 15:00

Asfaltpuls - paranoia as hell in the sunset is a street art performance about disconnection.
In the performance we meet five characters who, each in their own way, experience exclusion and otherness in a big city. Together, as a group, they face life.

Throughout the performance, themes such as the media's portrayal of neighborhoods, domestic violence, the tyranny of beauty, anxiety and loneliness are recorded in the landscape as the characters' own secrets and stories break through the stereotypical surface. The stories are told through poetry; they are taken apart, disassembled and reassembled. In Asphalt Pulse, the gang searches for reference points, emergency exit signs and points of light in the darkness.

Where do you go if all roads look the same? What do you reach for if everything you reach for is moving away from you? And where do you find hope if no one tells you it exists?

Asphalt Pulse is about friendship, secrets and relentless stories - about finding hope, together, even if it is well hidden behind dismantled walls, holes in the asphalt and dark underpasses.

The performance reflects on what happens to young people on the eastern edge of Oslo who get the media's bad attention directed at them. Asfaltpuls will go on a tour of the eastern edge of Oslo from September 1 to 22, 2018 and play a total of 37 performances. The artists will appear wherever young people are, and the performances will not be announced in advance.

Kloden collaborates with Nilay og Gjengen and Groruddalsprodusentene at Furuset library and activity center on some of the screenings.
