Kloden becomes
Kloden theatre was founded in 2015, and then we started working on mapping out what a professional theatre house with children and youth as its core audience should contain. How to create an open and audience-friendly theatre where children and youth will meet, create and experience. And a place that will facilitate all parts of a performing arts production and be a workplace for artists, with an emphasis on the free performing arts field. And not least, one of the main questions was; where should such a place be located?

Standard Telephone and Cable Factory
Early in the process, we came into contact with Oxer Eiendom, who owns the old factory premises of Standard Telefon og Kabelfabrikk at Økern in Oslo, and who want to develop Kabelgata into a pedestrian street with various public-oriented offers as part of the urban development in Hovinbyen. They would like to Kloden theater would be drawn in there.
