Just a little scared - Sindre Slorafoss
It starts with a cold sweat,
tiny beads slowly burning their way down your chest.
Then comes the trembling,
an uncontrollable shaking as if small bolts of lightning are rushing through the body.
Eventually,
like a wave from the bottom of the stomach to the top of the throat, comes the nausea.
You have no idea where it's coming from or why it's there. All you know is that you're scared.
LITT REDD, BARE is a theater performance for young people. We meet Cornelius who has actually had a pretty good life up until now; he is almost eighteen, goes to high school, lives in a house, plays soccer, gets good grades, parties with friends. When one day he has his first encounter with anxiety, everything is turned upside down. The problems that used to be big now feel like tiny grains of dust compared to the anxiety he carries in his body. He is torn between the shame of "not deserving to be sick" and the intense fear he feels anyway. And to top it all off, he lives in a world where emotions and openness are not talked about. All Cornelius wants is for things to go back to the way they were, but how the hell does he do that?
The theater production is an adaptation of the youth novel litt redd, bare, written by Alexander Kielland Krag. It is Sindre Slorafoss' first stand-alone production and is a collaboration between him and The Cultural Rucksack Innlandet.
