The Hedda Festival : Frida – Katma
With headphones, you are guided into Frida's world, directly to the heart of Mexico, where you are not just a spectator, but an active participant in Frida's colorful life. Frida is a tribute to courage, diversity and imagination as a tool to overcome adversity.
Made for adventurous souls over 9 years old, and adults with a child's heart, “Frida” offers a 45-minute journey you will never forget.
The performance was nominated for two Hedda Awards for best children's performance and best direction.
A tribute to Frida Kahlo
This performance by Katma is inspired by the life and art of Frida Kahlo. As an audience member, you will join Frida in Mexico, where you will draw, exercise, dance and celebrate with her family. You may also hear some secrets – but remember, you must keep them to yourself!
Frida's world
Frida comes from Mexico and often feels different and alone. Her life is marked by both illness and accidents, but she finds relief in drawing and painting. The performance takes you close to her experiences with bullying, love, accidents and art. You are also invited to participate in the Day of the Dead celebration – if you dare.

About the company:
Katma wants to bring poetry, chaos, aesthetics and wonder into children's everyday lives through the performing arts. Children's participation, experience, the sensual and a desire to open up to new understandings of reality are leading elements in our work. We will continue to work to ensure that our performances expand the young audience's perspective on what theatre can be and what places the performances can take place.
