GoFigure!: Interval – Pinquins (N)
The interval - the time between events and states , is a scenic composition and a performative music project, created and performed by the percussion trio Pinquins in collaboration with scenographer Kjersti Alm Eriksen.
In a playful, yet extremely precise, exploration of the relationship between man and object, between conscious actions and mechanical consequences, Pinquins shows that music can be theatre for both the ear and the eye. The performers are musicians and object manipulators in and outside a space they cannot move into. The distant becomes close, the heavy becomes light and movement becomes sound at a distance, leaving a mark.
This is contemporary music in theatrical form, it is sound sculpture theatre, it is object theatre and it is music. The work was nominated for Work of the Year by the Norwegian Composers' Association in 2024.
Pinquins consists of Jennifer Torrence, Ane Marthe Sørlien Holen and Sigrun Rogstad Gomnæs. With their highly visual repertoire and unique stage presence, the trio has established itself as one of the most innovative, cutting-edge and leading ensembles on the Norwegian contemporary music scene.
The trio are old friends at Go Figure. In 2018, they were part of the opening act at our very first festival run, and since then we've just been waiting for a good opportunity to have them back. Now it's happening!
