Kloden gets funding for pilot project

Kloden has received NOK 1 million from the Norwegian Arts Council to establish a pilot venue at Økern in Oslo!

The funds will be used to establish a venue for both producing and performing.

There is a great need for suitable premises for performing artists in Oslo. If everything goes according to plan, we can offer audiences and artists a really cool venue at the end of 2019 or start of 2020, says Kloden-director Ådne Sekkelsten.

The venue in question is located in Kabelgata, vis-à-vis the Kuben High School. Kloden has carried out a feasibility study in collaboration with Transborder Studio and arrived at a solution with very flexible use.

– Kloden will move to Kabelgata during in 2019. If we are able to establish this pilot venue, we are well on the way to develop a place for the performing arts and the young people, in collaboration with local actors. Økern is located in the middle of Oslo’s largest development area, which has a great need for more art and culture, says Sekkelsten.
